jwCompactor Demo

As you can see this is a demo of the jwCompactor module which allows you to place several modules into a single position. The modules are packed together using jQuery and Anicollapse. So instead of a chunky collapse animation, there is a smooth transitional animation to hide unused modules.

joomWHM 4 Free Webhosts

After an email through jWarlock from a reader asking about a Joomla component to sell / facilitate for Free Webhosts, I have decided to split the development of joomWHM at it's current point so that two different products can be released. I give you joomWHM4Free!

At the moment joomWHM is currently in the development process for Payment Processing. And as most Free Web Hosts don't use a payment processor it will effectively mean the release date for joomWHM4Free can be set towards the end of September 2008.

So what features am I releasing into joomWHM4Free and joomWHM?

First and foremost, the joomWHM tree of development is in Beta, and as such nothing is final and nothing is guaranteed in the Production Release. Because of the uncertainty there are a few things that could and might not make it, such as single page ordering process and some configuration options.

There will however be Pre and Post creation hook points which will mean actions can be performed pre and post account creation. For Free Web Hosts this will work well if you have a forum clients are to be using to qualify, or a website they are to be actively utilising. It could also be handy for people selling pre-installed scripts with hosting (e.g Traffic Exchanges and Custom CMS Installations).

Of course joomWHM4Free will be released as a free product, but will however be protected by the McHugh Technologies IP and Copyright Laws. Basically we hold the IP on the code inside of the component.

joomWHM will be released as a subscription application, and as such will also be encoded. However the templating system included will allow owners and license holders to change their layout to their choosing and modify key core components.

There will be a component and module release of both joomWHM and joomWHM4Free late in September, however you may not see if in the Joomla Extension Directory until early October.
