jwCompactor Demo

As you can see this is a demo of the jwCompactor module which allows you to place several modules into a single position. The modules are packed together using jQuery and Anicollapse. So instead of a chunky collapse animation, there is a smooth transitional animation to hide unused modules.

Day 2 of the News.com.au rush

For the last 24 hours my server has been bombarded with traffic to ImageNebula from (primarily) News.com.au. There is so much traffic that the server has without effort pushed out 105GB in 24 hours!

Server load has remained at a moderate 5.00~ for around 18 hours now. It was around 0.50 last night, but I did a few tweaks and increased the reporting frequency on the Advertisment serving software. Oh, and the server is so busy with requests and log file writes it is having problems giving me accurate reports on usage and bandwidth. Apache says I have sent out 105GB, cPanel says 24GB (and 13,000 visitors). By my calculations, I should be into the 100,000's by now (especially since Adsense has just clocked over 200k ad impressions).

I'll be writing a blog post on the effect of the traffic rush in a few hours, and I will be comparing it to a Digg.com traffic rush that occured last year in December. You will be very pleasantly surprised I believe.
